With the advent of popular internet platforms like Yelp, Facebook, and Google, leaving a review for a business you have visited is simple and easy. In fact, submitting a review for a business that has provided an important service is common practice. The stars you use to rate those companies are every bit as important as the words you write to describe your experience.

Let us show you how easy it is to review a business:


To write a Yelp review, go to Once you are on the page, you will see a button that says “Sign Up” in the upper right corner. Click this button to create a Yelp account.

After you have clicked “Sign Up,” you will arrive at a form that requires you to enter your name, email address, password, etc. Enter this information and proceed by clicking the “Sign Up” button.

Once you finish this step, you will receive an email in the inbox of the account you entered. This email will need to be opened to confirm your account. Once you enter your email address, make sure to click the “Confirm Email” button.

Now you are ready to begin reviewing. In the top part of the page, underneath the Yelp search bar, you will see a tab that reads “Write Review.” Click this tab to go to the next page where you can search the business you desire to review.

Once you arrive at the next page and type in the business, click on the company name and write your review.

Also, don’t forget to click on the number of stars to rate the business before submitting your final review. Yelp has a scale of 1 to 5 stars, 1 being the least satisfactory and 5 being the most satisfactory.

Congratulations! You have submitted your first review. Now let’s see how to leave reviews at these other popular internet sites.


In your internet browser, type If you do not have a Facebook account, you will need to create one. Creating a Facebook page is easy. You can begin by adding your information on this landing page:

Once you have put in your information, you will receive an email with a code.

Copy the code into the space of the Facebook page and hit “continue.” This will activate your account.

Once you have activated your Facebook account, you will arrive at your home page. In the middle section of your home page, you will see a search bar. Enter in the business you wish to review and click enter.

Select the company. Once you arrive on its Facebook landing page, on the left side, you will be asked this question: “Do you recommend *this business*?”

Click “yes,” and a small pop-up screen will appear where you can write your review.


To leave a Google review, you must start by visiting Input the business you wish to review in the search bar. After you enter the business and select “Google Search,” it will return a list of pages with your preferred company appearing on the right side of your screen.

Then, you must select the “Write Review” button at the bottom of the panel.

If you do not have a Google account, you will be asked to create one after you select “Write Review.”

You will have to click “Create Account” to continue. Once you choose this option, you will select “For Myself.”

From there, you will input your information, create a unique username, and click “Next.” You will receive a confirmation email. Once you have opened that email to confirm your account, you will be returned to the first screen. From there, you will click “Write a review.”

Once you do that, a pop-up screen labeled “Rate and review” will appear.

Make sure to select the number of stars you wish to give your desired business. Please note that Google’s star system is similar to Yelp’s with 1 being the least satisfactory and 5 being the most satisfactory.

Once you enter in your review, click “Post.”

Important: When writing reviews for these and other platforms, it is always best to remain honest and constructive about your experience. Your reviews should be detailed, specific, friendly, and objective. You can include an array of details about your experience, including customer service and your overall impression. You can also update your review as needed.

When you write reviews on internet platforms, please be mindful that this information is viewable by others, such as friends, family, and professional acquaintances. You will want to refrain from issuing personal attacks and using obscene language in your reviews, which can reflect poorly on you. You will also want to leave out links and personal information such as names.

Following these practices will allow you to write reviews that fairly and accurately reflect your encounters and experiences.
